We have been holding meetings / surgeries outwith our offices since May 2011to meet our tenants and to discuss whatever issues they have.
The initial uptake on these meetings was very good and after the first few were carried out we decided to hold 1 meeting at 1 location for 4 hours.
The first 4 hour meeting (4pm to 8pm) took place in November 2012 at the GCVS building in Ashley Street and it was very well attended. A number of tenants attended and had a chance to speak to 2 managers from the Association (Julie McConnon and Martin Percy) and a wide range of issues (repairs, improvements, housing transfers, estate management, etc) were discussed.
Our June 2013 surgery was held at the GCVS building in Ashley Street (directly across from our office) on Thursday 6 June 2013 between the hours of 4pm and 8pm. All tenants of the Association received a personalised letter inviting them to attend. Julie McConnon and Martin Percy attended on behalf of the Association and met with a total of 10 tenants.
Our November 2013 surgey was held in the Albany Centre (GCVS) on Monday 25 November 2013 between the hours of 4pm and 8pm. This surgey was attended by Julie McConnon and Martin Percy from the Association and Julie and Martin received visits from 10 tenants. The discussion at this surgery ranged from housing transfer and repairs to financial matters.
In 2014 we held a surgery at the Association's Offices in 31 Ashley Street on Tuesday 20 May 2014 from 4pm until 8pm. A total of 8 tenants visited the surgery and discussed a variety of issues relating to their tenancies and the buildings in which they live. We held another surgery at our office on Wednesday 17 September 2014 between the hours of 4pm and 8pm. A total of only 3 tenants visited.
It is now our plan to hold 1 surgery every 12 months at our offices at 31 Ashley Street due mainly to the fact that the numbers attending has fallen off significantly. We will ensure that all tenants are advised of the dates well in advance. Should you choose to come along to any of our surgeries you will normally be met by 2 of our managers, Julie McConnon and Martin Percy.
